Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen were the German big guns keen to take a look at Accies kid Jamie Hamilton.
Record Sport yesterday revealed the club had knocked back approaches from two Bundesliga sides.
Hamilton, 17, is training with Brighton this week, a request granted given the clubs’ links – including ex-Accies boss Billy Reid who is the Seagulls’ No.2.
Brighton have been tracking the defender for more than a year and if he enjoys his time on the south coast, the likelihood is they will try to do a deal.
It will need to start with a seven-figure bid with future add-ons if the Premiership side are to entertain it.
Hamilton has had a dramatic rise and has been a first team regular in recent months.
The youngster has had three red cards lately although his last one against Hearts was rescinded on appeal.
Meanwhile, Accies have opened contract talks with striker Marios Ogkmpoe, whose deal is up this summer.
