Jamie Gillan named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

On the heels —err, foot — of a terrific performance on Monday Night Football, Browns punter Jamie Gillan has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 2.

The league revealed the players of the week for offense, defense and special teams for both the AFC and NFC on Wednesday morning, and there’s the “Scottish Hammer” repping the AFC.

Gillan was fantastic against the Jets. Five of his six punts ended up inside the New York 20-yard line, and his outstanding hang time and control allowed the Jets just one return attempt for five yards. The rookie also had clean holds on all three Austin Seibert field goals.

Congrats to Gillan!
