Jamie Collins celebrates the Patriots ‘three musketeers’ at linebacker

New England Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins is reunited with Kyle Van Noy and Dont’a Hightower. Apparently, it feels so good.

Collins celebrated his teammates on Instagram on Tuesday by sharing a photo of the three linebackers. He wrote a caption: “Three Musketeers.”

Collins rejoined the Patriots this offseason after entering free agency. The Cleveland Browns cut in him in March after two and a half years with the team. The Patriots traded him to Cleveland in 2016 midseason in the final year of his contract. While that divorce was somewhat messy, he seems to have fully embraced his second stint with the Patriots.

These “three musketeers” seem like they can bring incredible versatility to New England’s defense in 2019. Hightower praised Collins after practice on Tuesday for his ability to generate turnovers.

“He brings another element of trying to get after the ball,” Hightower said. “That’s definitely something that’s obviously emphasized on defense, is turnovers. Him out there, he’s always been a ball hawk so whether he’s clutching at the ball or having guys thinking about getting back and looking for him, reading the quarterback and all of that stuff. That stuff helps.”
