Jamie Chung sends meaningful message with SAG Awards look

Jamie Chung’s SAG Awards look made more than just a fashion statement.

The “Lovecraft Country” actress accompanied her stunning off-the-shoulder red Oscar de la Renta dress with a matching handbag that read, “Stop Asian Hate,” according to photos she posted on Instagram ahead of the show Sunday.

“In some Asian cultures, the color red symbolizes joy, luck and happiness,” Chung, 37, wrote. “In Korean culture it symbolizes creation, passion and power.”

The “Sucker Punch” actress went on to say she’s “so proud of my history and heritage. And so very grateful to be a part of LOVECRAFT!”

Chung, whose striking photos were taken in front of a firehouse and FDNY truck, signed off by saying she was “sending virtual hugs to my beautiful and soulful cast mates” ahead of the pre-taped show.
