Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and Leicester City's James Maddison were both on the wind up on Sky Sports today.
The attacking midfielder appeared as a special guest on Sky's Big Quiz show going head to head with Carragher.
During the quiz the ex-Reds defender suggested Maddison is a fan of Liverpool, as he exclaimed: "He's a Liverpool fan!"
To which Maddison laughingly responded: "No I'm not!"
The show's host and Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler interjected: "You're from a family of Liverpool fans, is that right?"
"My mother is a big Liverpool fan," The England international explained. "She'll probably be watching this at some point as well."
Carragher then asked: "[Is she a] Jamie Carragher fan?"
The 23-year-old, who had been a standout player for Brendan Rodgers' side before the suspension of football, jokingly replied: "Absolutely not!"
Last summer, Carragher had urged Liverpool to sign the highly-regarded Maddison who was being linked with a host of clubs.
Speaking at the time, he said: “I think he is the one player outside of the top six who Liverpool should be looking at.
“People have been talking about Coutinho coming back, but obviously that hasn’t happened as he has gone to Bayern Munich, but if you are looking in the Premier League, yes he will cost a lot of money.
"But he should be the one Liverpool are looking at if you are going to that next step up.”
