A Liverpool store saw sales of one of its t-shirts ‘skyrocket’ after Jamie Carragher wore it on Sky Sports last night as the Reds won the Premier League title.
The former Liverpool defender was asked about the picture on his t-shirt while being interviewed on TV after Man City lost to Chelsea, securing the league for Liverpool.
He said: “It’s basically every manager and captain who’ve lifted the league title for Liverpool.”
He went on to reveal it was from Transalpino on Bold Street and said they’re ‘flying out’.
Last night Transalpino tweeted another clip of Carragher wearing the t-shirt on TV while shaking a bottle of champagne in celebration and shouting: “Well done, love you” to captain Jordan Henderson.
Supporters then crashed the website trying to get one with one fan saying: “Took an hour and a half to get through but managed to grab one”.
And another saying: “Trying to get mine and website keeps crashing”.
If you didn’t manage to get one, you will now need to wait. Transaplino tweeted this morning to say: “I’m afraid there won’t be any of these tees available instore for a few days after this fella sent sales rocketing online.”
