Jamie Carragher urges Liverpool to sign England youngster and deliver transfer blow to Chelsea

Former Liverpool defender and pundit Jamie Carragher wants the Reds to land Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the 18-year-old, who has seen an astronomical rise since his switch from Birmingham to the Bundesliga.

A potential transfer of the youngster for Thomas Tuchel could help him in refreshing his midfield for the future, with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante now entering their 30s.

However, a plethora of other top European sides have also been linked with Bellingham, who has cemented his place in the Dortmund team and England squad as a regular.

The England international extended his contract with the Bundesliga club last summer until 2025, with club officials claiming it will take a large transfer offer for them to allow him to move on.

Bellingham has made 15 league appearances this season, scoring twice and assisting five times. He has also made six Champions League appearances to add to his top flight experience, despite his side dropping into the Europa League.

Given his performances and ability to improve further, Carragher believes he is one player that Liverpool should land.

Taking to twitter in a Q and A, the former defender was asked about which player he would like the Reds to sign, and he said: “Jude Bellingham & the summer window is fine for me!”

Not only would the transfer be a blow for the Blues if they did wish to land the youngster, but it would also strengthen Liverpool, who are seen as title rivals to Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp is another who may consider a shake-up in the middle of the park, with the view to the future in signing Bellingham.
