Jamie Carragher trolls Peter Schmeichel over reaction during Manchester United loss vs RB Leipzig

The reaction of former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel to the club's performance against RB Leipzig was caught on camera.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travelled to Germany requiring a single point from their final group stage match but defeat means it will be Europa League football for United in February.

Having won their opening two matches in the competition against Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig, United were in the driving seat to clinch qualification but a surprise defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey derailed their campaign.

While United then won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, last week's defeat to PSG along with the loss to Leipzig ended the Reds' involvement in Europe's premier club competition.

Schmeichel was among the millions of United fans across the globe feeling the pain on Tuesday night - but perhaps the only one who was having his reaction mocked by Jamie Carragher

Late in the game, Schmeichel can be seen watching the game on a laptop intently before leaning back and sprawling his arms out, as if he was accepting United's fate.

Back in the CBS Sports studio, former Liverpool defender Carragher joked that he enjoyed watching Schmeichel's reaction more than the game itself.

"Peter, obviously you're disappointed, but you can imagine we were quite pleased in here (alongside former City player Micah Ricahrds," Carragher said. "But we were almost as entertained by watching the game as we were by watching you. We did have a camera and we could actually see you.

"You're watching there, on the laptop. You've had enough."
