Jamie Carragher sends Chelsea a message about Liverpool's quest for revenge at Anfield

Jamie Carragher has sent Chelsea a warning about Liverpool's quest for revenge when the two sides meet at Anfield next Sunday.

The two clubs have established an intense rivalry over the past 14 years which has included Champions League semi finals, cup finals and crucial Premier League ties - including one at the home of the Reds in 2014.

With just three games left in the season Liverpool faced Chelsea at Anfield with the Blues coming away with a 2-0 victory after Demba Ba capitalised on Steven Gerrard's slip before Willian made sure of the points.

They ended Liverpool's 11 game winning streak and struck a fatal blow in their quest for the Premier League title, which they eventually lost to Manchester City by two points.

The two meet again next Sunday with Liverpool chasing the Premier League title having come from behind to beat Southampton 3-1 on Friday, and Carragher has sent Chelsea a warning over their trip to Anfield next week.

Asked by his Sky Sports colleague Martin Tyler whether there is a score to be settled between the two clubs, Carragher replied: “Yes.”

He added: “Another question to be answered. We all know what happened the last time Liverpool were going for the title. It will be a huge atmosphere.

“Another game ticked off. There is a huge rivalry between Liverpool and Chelsea over the years. Add into the mix what happened last time Liverpool were going for the title.”
