Jamie Carragher says questions are being asked of Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool defeat

Jamie Carragher says "real questions" are being asked of Jurgen Klopp for the first time in his Liverpool career after defeat by Manchester City.

The Reds won the Premier League title at a canter last season after bringing home the Champions League the previous campaign.

But this season Klopp's Reds have been distinctly off colour and they were battered 4-1 by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on Sunday.

Winning the title already appears to be out of Liverpool's grasp, and Carragher admits the German is under real pressure.

"I think this is the first time under Jurgen Klopp when real questions are starting to be asked," said the former Liverpool centre-back on Sky Sports.

"Be even more after this game. That manager and that team have done so much. As I said it's the first time in five-and-a-half years it's not really going to plan."

Manchester City opened the scoring through Ilkay Gundogan in the second half at Anfield, after the midfielder missed a penalty in the opening 45 minutes.

Mohamed Salah equalised for Liverpool from the penalty spot, before a series of mistakes from Reds keeper Alisson saw City storm ahead.

Two errors from the shot-stopper saw Phil Foden set up Gundogan for his second and Raheem Sterling to net.

Foden then made it four with a sensational solo effort to secure the points.
