Jamie Carragher reminds Gary Neville of brutal full-back dig after Liverpool score

Jamie Carragher made a sly reference to his infamous "No one grows up wanting to be a Gary Neville" dig after Liverpool scored against Red Bull Salzburg.

Liverpool's second strike against the Austrian giants saw right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold pick out left-back Andrew Robertson in the box to slot home.

The two full backs celebrated the goal together as Carragher signed into Twitter and posted: "Who grows up and wants to be a full back!"

Back in 2013 Carragher was discussing the role of the full-back and came to the conclusion that "No one wants to be a full-back as a kid."

He explained: "If you're a full-back, you're either a failed winger or a failed centre-back."

Ignoring the fact that Neville, his Sky Sports co-pundit, was a full-back during his playing career, the Liverpool legend continued.

And well, he then took things one step further again, brutally concluding: "No one grows up wanting to be a Gary Neville!"

His comment was met with disbelief from Neville, who simply burst out laughing alongside presenter Ed Chamberlain.
