Jamie Carragher on why Chelsea were the big winners from Man United vs Arsenal

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea should take encouragement from Manchester United's draw with Arsenal.

The two played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Monday night, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cancelling out Scott McTominay's first half opener.

The result moves Arsenal back into the Champions League places on goal difference ahead of West Ham, while United are now three points off the top four.

But speaking in the immediate aftermath of the game, Carragher believes the result should hand Chelsea encouragement in their pursuit of Champions League football.

“The one team looking at that tonight who will be encouraged is Chelsea," the former Liverpool defender told Sky Sports.

"At the start of the season, I thought Chelsea might struggle to get into the top-four. It will still be a fight but even in these early stages, they have more quality than what we have seen from these two teams.”

Frank Lampard's side are a point off the top four in the Premier League table after picking up their first win at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this season.

A second half penalty from Jorginho set the Blues on their way against Brighton before Willian completed the scoring 14 minutes from time.
