Jamie Carragher on how Roy Keane 'makes his presence felt' even when he's not on air

Jamie Carragher reveals that Roy Keane does not shy away from voicing his opinion, even when he is not on air.

Keane has become a new regular on the Sky Sports punditry team this season, and Carragher admits that the Cork native ‘makes his presence felt’ by sending texts to himself and Gary Neville.

When Keane does not join the famous duo on a broadcast, they know they have 'started the show well' if the Man Utd legend gets in contact.

The former Liverpool defender told JOE’s Football Spin podcast: "Roy’s doing good. He’s been on The Football Show a few times.

"We’ve been on a few more times than him, and we know when we’ve started the show well because, two or three times now, we’ve both got texts off Roy.

"That’s whether he’s happy or not happy with what we’ve said, early in the show, in the first hour or so. That’s quite entertaining, actually.

"Sometimes when the camera comes on us, we’re looking down at our phone and we’ve been caught out a few times.

"A lot of the time, that’s a text off Roy — whether he’s not happy with something we’ve said or something a guest has said! He’s still making his presence felt, no doubt."

Carragher and Keane have been involved in a number of heated debates this season live on Sky Sports, with the pinnacle regarding Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's managerial experience, following their 2-0 defeat at Liverpool.

All three men will return to Premier League punditry duty this week, as the league restarts on Wednesday.
