Jamie Carragher names worst ever Liverpool kit

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has named the worst ever Reds kit he ever played in.

The former centre-back, who made 737 appearances during his 17 years at the club, made the admission  when talking to Conor Coady for Sky Sports.

The pair were speaking about when the now Wolves defender made his debut for Liverpool against Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League in 2012.

Coady was asked by Geoff Shreeves how much help Carragher was as captain that night when the Reds lost 1-0 with Samuel Eto’o playing against them and Gus Hiddink in the opposition dugout alongside Roberto Carlos.

The 27-year-old said: "He was fantastic, he was someone I looked up to growing up and to play in the same team as him, it was a tough night, and to have him in behind me was brilliant - the way he talked, well shouted shouted more screaming balls!

"But you need that, you need someone pulling you into position as I was playing central midfield that night."

And Carragher added: “I think it was possibly the worst kit I have ever played in!”

Both laughed as they described the purple, white and orange number which was manufactured by Warrior.
