Jamie Carragher names two Leicester stars who could play for Man City

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that two Leicester City stars could play for Manchester City if the opportunity ever arose.

The Foxes travelled to Manchester on Monday ahead of the critical showdown at the Etihad Stadium, with the Blues hoping to claim victory and move one point above Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.

Carragher was asked pre-match why the Leicester side, who have little left to play for this season besides seventh place, would be up for the game.

The former Liverpool defender responded by saying that the players in the Leicester squad would be wanting to impress the world this evening and then went on to name two players in particular who would be at home in a City shirt.

Asked why the game is important to Leicester City, Carragher told Sky Sports: "Well it matters because a lot of teams in Leicester's situation, whilst there is not a lot riding on it, they are now actually part of the title race in some ways.

"Newcastle were part of it on Saturday and now it's Leicester's turn. The country is watching it and maybe the whole world is because it's a huge game.

"They have got players there who have got a belief that they're as good as some of the Man City players. They are not there yet but if you think of (James) Maddison, (Youri) Tielemans is still looking for a club and Jamie Vardy has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League these last few years.

"There are actually players in the Leicester team who could play for Man City. (Harry) Maguire could play for City and (Ben) Chilwell. They are involved in a huge game but they will also want to show Pep Guardiola, and people watching up and down the country, how good they are."
