Jamie Carragher has identified the key ingredient that Arsenal have lost in recent years - and it's not the usual defensive criticism.
Whilst the Gunners have struggled defensively this term yet again after conceding 28 goals in 19 league matches ahead of facing Chelsea, the former Liverpool star has also looked into the club's issues with the ball.
Entertaining football has always been associated with Arsenal but Carragher insists that the club have lost that in recent seasons.
The Gunners had only scored 25 goals in 19 games before the Chelsea clash and Carragher says that is simply not good enough for a team which is supposed to be challenging for the top four.
Carragher was initially asked to compare the tasks on the hands of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and Frank Lampard at Chelsea when he delved into the key issues at the Gunners.
Asked if Arteta has a tougher job than Lampard on his hands, Carragher told Sky Sports: "Yes, without a doubt. There is a much better squad there for Frank Lampard.
"Mikel has a much bigger job. They have only won one in 14. For a team at the bottom of the league that would be a terrible run, for Arsenal it's shocking.
"We always speak about Arsenal and how they need to be better defensively and of course they need to be organised.
"But what has also been lost with Arsenal over these last couple of years is the actual football. They don't actually excite you when you watch them play.
"They have got two of the best attacking players in the league in (Alexandre) Lacazette and (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang but they have only scored 25 goals in 19 league games this season. That's something which needs to be brought back."
