Jamie Carragher mocks Man United legend with series of 'seven' jokes after Liverpool mauling

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher poked fun at former Manchester United star Peter Schmeichel over the weekend’s result between the two clubs.

The Reds claimed a 7-0 win over their bitter rivals in the Premier League clash on Sunday. It was a result that lifted Liverpool up to fifth place in the table and three points adrift of the top four with a game in hand.

Carragher and Schmeichel were appearing on CBS Sports for their coverage of the Champions League clash between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night. Carragher was in the studio alongside Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, while Schmeichel was at Stamford Bridge.

During a segment that saw Carragher chat to Schmeichel, the former Liverpool defender could not help but make a series of jokes featuring the number ‘7’ in reference to Sunday’s match.

It started by Carragher having a can of 7up in front of him during the broadcast. His first question to Schmeichel then went: “We’re getting into March, the 7th of March. It feels like these games are cut-throat, like I said, into March on the seventh. How important does it feel being at the Bridge”

Schmeichel then joked that he couldn’t hear the question, so Carragher asked another. He asked: “Jude Bellingham is there and he’s a superstar, and we feel he’s maybe going to move on in the summer. What type of price tag are we talking? Who knows how big that will be, you have to think it will start at least with a seven?”

Carragher didn’t stop there, as he then asked: “Peter, you’re going to be at AC Milan tomorrow (Wednesday), AC Milan vs Tottenham. I mean AC Milan, how big a problem would that be if they go out? We are talking about the seven-time winners of the Champions League.”

It was then Schmeichel’s turn, where he then asked Carragher: “Aren’t we (Man United) seven points ahead of you?”

Carragher then finished by holding up his can of 7up and replying: “Don’t worry, we’re enjoying our 7up, Peter.”
