Jamie Carragher makes Harry Kane and Gary Neville dig after Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk

Jamie Carragher has aimed a lighthearted dig at Gary Neville and Harry Kane after Anthony Joshua's heavyweight defeat against Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.

The British boxer was comprehensively beaten by Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as over 66,000 fans attended the event in north London.

This was arguably the biggest boxing event in England for two years but Joshua was unable to provide the home supporters with the victory.

But Joshua's loss saw former Liverpool defender Carragher post a joke on social media, suggesting that both he and Kane's form has deteriorated since Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville had them both on his podcast.

The Spurs forward appeared on Neville's 'The Overlap' back in May, whilst Joshua followed and Carragher made an instant connection after the fight.

He said: "Joshua & Kane have gone to pieces after the @GNev2 YouTube Overlap interviews! #JoshuaUsyk."

It has been a disappointing start to the season for Kane, who has failed to hit the net in the Premier League, although he has only played four times so far.

The 28-year-old, though, was subject to transfer interest from Manchester City over the summer, but the move never materialised and he stayed at Tottenham.

Kane scored 23 goals and assisted 14 last term, winning the Golden Boot and the Playmaker of the Season award and played an important role in England's Euro 2020 adventure, too.

Having also been named in the Premier League Team of the Year for the fifth time in his career, Kane's stock had possibly never been higher but Daniel Levy wanted to keep his star man.

Carragher's comment was in the build up to the hotly-anticipated north London derby, where Kane will be hoping to get off the mark and help Spurs to another win over Arsenal.
