A win is essential for Liverpool today at Chelsea if they are to stay in the race for the Premier League title according to Jamie Carragher.
Liverpool are currently 12 points leaders City, but have two games in hand, with the first one coming at Stamford Bridge today.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were disappointed with their loss away at Leicester on Tuesday night and are looking to bounce back with a win in West London.

Chelsea themselves are in desperate need of a win to keep their own title ambitions alive, but Thomas Tuchel’s side will be without star striker Romelu Lukaku and several other first-team players today for various reasons.
“If someone loses today, they’ve got no chance of winning the league,” Carragher said on Sky Sports in the studio at Stamford Bridge.
“The gap with City is big, Pep Guardiola ’s team gets mid-90 points. They very rarely drop points.
"Also, Man City have played eight of the top 12 away from home.
“Chelsea and Liverpool have still got to go to Manchester City. I think it’ll be really difficult today, if it’s a draw then it’s virtually impossible.
“A win today gives one of the teams a fighting chance. If Liverpool win their game in hand then six points is doable, but they'd have to go to Man City and win.
“Whoever drops points here has no chance in the title race.”
A win for Liverpool will take them back into second and nine points behind City at the top of the league.
