Jamie Carragher has identified one clear problem with Liverpool which has seen Manchester City emerge as heavy favourites for the Premier League title.
After hitting back to claim their 11th straight win against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon, Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team watched on as the Reds drew with fellow contenders Chelsea.
Without absent Jurgen Klopp due to a positive Covid-19 test, Liverpool went 2-0 up inside 26 minutes at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon - through Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
However, it was honours even after that pulsating Premier League showdown.
Mateo Kovacic and United States captain Christian Pulisic responded for Chelsea in the run-up to half-time.
It was the fifth time Klopp's men have thrown away an advantage already this season and - during his latest outing on Sky Sports - that was the crux of Carragher's post-match analysis.
He said: "Always when you are in the lead, certainly 2-0 up against a big rival, you have got to be disappointed. I think Liverpool will be pleased, at the end, with a point. You could see that with the changes they made, bringing Mane off and Curtis Jones coming on.
"But that's why Liverpool won't win the league this season.
"Liverpool have taken the lead 17 times this season, so have Manchester City. City have won every one. Liverpool have only won 12 [of those games].
"What they are lacking now that they had in their title-winning season is control of a football game.
"What we are watching here and what we watched at Tottenham, that's Jurgen Klopp in year one or year two.

"These end to end games and we will all sit back and say; 'That's the game of the season. That's the best game I've seen this season'. But in terms of Liverpool winning the title, that's what's going to cost them.
"Five times now they have taken the least this season and they haven't won the game.
"That's the difference between them and Manchester City."
