Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has responded to a tweet from Piers Morgan after the controversial presenter expressed his support for Karren Brady's comments on a potential voiding of this Premier League campaign.
Abandoning the league season, as the West Ham United chairwoman has suggested , would mean the Reds missing out on a league title, plus plenty of other teams being affected in terms of promotion and relegation.
Morgan tweeted: "Why is @karren_brady getting slaughtered for saying this?
"There’s no chance of this season being completed so the ONLY fair thing to do under such completely unprecedented circumstances is to cancel it & start again in August."
Liverpool supporters have not been impressed with Brady's comments, and Carragher was no different.
He replied to Morgan's comment, writing: "Have a look at Klopp’s comments compared to Karren Brady’s.
"Whats [sic] fair is to finish the season for teams in every league when the [football] is allowed to start again.
"The [football] authorities found a way to put a World Cup in the middle of a season so I’m sure they can sort next season out."
There is no suggestion that a complete voiding of the 2019/20 season will take place. at this stage with the Premier League preferring to rearrange fixtures for later in the year.
Matches are set to resume from April 3 onwards, with dates for rearranged matches to be confirmed, while after UEFA's meeting on Tuesday to discuss the future of the Champions League, the Coronavirus situation is likely to become clearer.
