Jamie Carragher hilariously assesses his own performance in Liverpool Legends victory over Rangers

He might have given a penalty away but Jamie Carragher was pleased with his performance in the Liverpool Legends game against Rangers.

The defender hailed his own performance as "outstanding" on Twitter in response to the ECHO's player's ratings.

"Outstanding! Could still do a job for Jurgen!!" Carragher said. "Still undefeated in these Legend games."

However, the former Red didn't get off to the best start when he gave away an early penalty after a foul on Kris Boyd.

But Carra's blushes were spared as the ex-Rangers striker was unable to convert the spot-kick, putting his effort wide.

Liverpool went on to win 3-2 and Carragher made up for his earlier error with some important blocks and neat footwork.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard played 75 minutes for the Reds before switching shirts to the Blue of Rangers.

The Gers' manager was as classy as ever but was unable to get himself a goal for either side.
