Jamie Carragher has excellent response to former Manchester United star Gary Neville's ridiculous Liverpool statement

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has provided a brilliant response to a ridiculous Gary Neville statement on the Champions League earlier this season.

Carragher was in a jubilant mood after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Champions League in Madrid.

Mohamed Salah scored a penalty goal inside two minutes after Moussa Sissoko was called for a handball following Sadio Mane's cross.

Divock Origi put the nail in the coffin for Spurs late on when he lashed home a fantastic left-footed shot from inside the box.

It left Liverpool fans delirious and Carragher was naturally in great spirits as he ripped into Neville post-match.

Neville originally suggested earlier this season that Liverpool should put their focus purely on the Premier League as they aimed to win the competition for the first time.

Whilst Manchester City did end up claiming the title, Liverpool managed to amass an outstanding 97 league points and win the Champions League final, proving Neville wrong.

It's safe to say Carragher couldn't stop himself mocking Neville post-match as he shared an article of Neville's after Liverpool's draw to Everton earlier in the campaign.
