Jamie Carragher has praised Jarrad Branthwaite for another excellent display for Everton in their win over Sheffield United.
The 18-year-old defender made his Premier League debut against Wolves last weekend before coming off the bench after less than 20 minutes on Thursday night against Aston Villa.
Branthwaite was then given his full Premier League debut in a defence that included Djibril Sidibe, Michael Keane and Lucas Digne against the Blades.
A £750,000 signing from League Two side Carlisle United, Branthwaite started life with Everton's under-23s but has been thrust into the first-team picture since the squad returned to training after lockdown.
And Carragher, taking to Twitter after the game, was clearly impressed with what he saw from the youngster.

He wrote: “Like the look of Everton’s 18 yr old centre back @Jarradbranthwa1 excellent again. He’s got size & presence, plus having a left footed centre back always adds a nice balance to a team."
While speaking after the game, Gylfi Sigurdsson was also full of praise for Branthwaite and Anthony Gordon for making the step up to first-team level since the Premier League restarted.
He said: “They are good players and willing to learn. You can today and the last few games they have done really well.
“Hopefully they have got a bright future at the club.”
Everton claimed a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane thanks to Richarlison's second half header. The win moves the Blues up to 11th in the Premier League table.
