Jamie Carragher explains why Burnley are Liverpool's big hope in fight with Man City

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has explained why Manchester City’s trip to Burnley is a game where Pep Guardiola’s side could encounter issues.

City head to Turf Moor on Sunday and still have their Premier League fate in their own hands after their midweek victory over Manchester United, despite Liverpool returning to the summit with their 5-0 romp at home to Huddersfield Town on Friday night.

Pep Guardiola's side have won 10 games in a row but Carragher reckons a trip to Burnley is now akin to travelling to Stoke City when he was a player.

Jurgen Klopp explains why Roberto Firmino absent from Liverpool squad against Huddersfield

“I certainly think that is the toughest one left," he told Sky Sports. "I don’t see them struggling in the final two games.

“Burnley away is a game you’d expect Man City to win but Jurgen Klopp is right, it’s not a match you want at this time of the season.

“It was a bit like Stoke away when I was playing. You don’t want to be playing them away when the title is on the line.”

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk hailed as 'best in world' by Premier League midfielder
