Jamie Carragher has doubled down on his bold claim about Tottenham striker Harry Kane and his passing ability.
The former Liverpool defender claimed last week that Spurs talisman Kane is 'one of the best passers in the world'.
And that claim had some raising an eyebrow, particularly with Kane known as a goalscorer, being a striker and not a midfielder, a position more associated with creative passing.
Ahead of Spurs' clash with Burnley on Monday Night Football, Carragher revisited his comment but instead of backing down from it, the Sky Sports pundit doubled down on his claim, providing some reasoning.
"Certainly watching last week against West Ham, it certainly felt like a tactic that he was going deeper," Carragher said when assessing Kane.
"But what I would say is that I have watched Harry Kane for five or six years in this job and I have always felt he is more than just a goalscorer, I have always thought he is a great passer of the ball."
He added: "When you do co-commentary, you say things and you react to things quickly, and sometimes you say things and then think ‘that’s not right’.
"When Harry Kane played that ball, I said that he is one of the best passers of the ball in the world, then you calm down and think ‘I’ve gone a bit big there, I’ve gone a bit heavy’.
"Then I actually thought about it and thought ‘who is actually the best passer of the ball in the world?’
"I’d possibly say Kevin De Bruyne. But when I think in the Premier League who I would want to be playing a ball through to me after De Bruyne, it would be Harry Kane.
"So, if De Bruyne is the best, certainly in my eyes, Harry Kane probably isn’t far away, so maybe it wasn’t the biggest shout in the world."
Kane has actually created more goals than he has scored so far in the Premier League this season, assisting seven and scoring five, netting 10 and assisting eight in all competitions.
