Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool have a Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane problem

Jamie Carragher believes the absence of Diogo Jota is a big reason for Liverpool's recent away form.

The Reds have won just two Premier League games on their travels so far this season; a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in September, and a recent 7-0 thrashing against Crystal Palace.

Goals have been a concern for Jurgen Klopp away from home, bar the one extraordinary 90 minutes at Selhurst Park.

Liverpool have been without Jota since the Portuguese international suffered a knee injury when playing for the Reds against Midtjylland at the start of last month in the UEFA Champions League.

The former Wolves man - who was signed over the summer - started life at Anfield in fine fashion.

The 23-year-old has already netted nine times after moving to Merseyside last summer, and his absence has been felt by the champions in recent weeks.

That's according to Liverpool legend Carragher, who was trying to put his finger on why the Reds' away form has been underwhelming this term.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the former centre-back said: "The big problem for me is when you go back to the last game at Newcastle; yes, Salah missed chances and Mane missed a couple of chances, but I always feel at this moment, if they don’t score - who is gonna score?

"If you take the Palace game out again, Firmino got a couple, Henderson and Minamino - no-one else has scored away from home this season for Liverpool, who’s available for tonight, there’s only been Jota.”
