Jamie Carragher seemed to have a dig at Roy Keane as he criticised recent "lazy punditry" surrounding Tottenham Hotspur.
Keane has been one of the most ardent critics of Spurs over the course of the season and was involved in a heated argument with Jamie Redknapp earlier this month.
During the on-air dispute, the Manchester United legend repeatedly highlighted what he sees as "softness in this Spurs team".
He also highlighted how the north London club have fallen short in big games over the course of their trophy drought, which stretches back to 2008.
But Carragher appeared to directly contradict Keane's claims by insisting Spurs have been "outstanding" during that time.
The Liverpool hero told Sky Sports : "In this job I do, a lot of people, a lot of pundits, say 'typical Spurs', 'Spursy', 'they're weak'. I fight against that.
"The reason being is because I think it's lazy punditry. I do. In the job I've been doing I've seen some brilliant Spurs teams.
"[They have] Not won the league, not won the Champions League. But being totally honest you wouldn't expect them to.

"What we saw under [Mauricio] Pochettino for three years was outstanding. What I saw under Harry Redknapp for two, three years was outstanding as well."
Nonetheless, Carragher said he can understand why Spurs are regularly criticised after witnessing their underwhelming performance in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, which Manchester City won 1-0.
He added: "When Spurs fans get upset the reason people speak about them in them terms is because of games like this.
"The last four cup finals they haven't scored a goal. And this performance is basically why they're stuck with this tag.
"And I can't argue for them. And Spurs fans can't argue for them on the back of this performance. It is on the players. Nothing to do with the manager."
