Jamie Campbell Bower and rising stars CONFIRMED for Game Of Thrones sequel

Jamie Campbell Bower is among a host of names confirmed to have joined the Game of Thrones prequel.

Bower, who starred in Twilight and Crimes Of Grindelwald, described his casting as “a real pinch me moment” when the news was announced on Tuesday.

Writing on Twitter, the actor said that he was “shaking with joy to be able to share the news”.

Bower is one of several new faces in the prequel drama, allegedly titled The Long Night, after author George RR Martin revealed casting was underway late last year.

The publication also report that Collateral director SJ Clarkson – who will serve as executive producer - is set to direct the pilot.

HBO previews new Game of Thrones season

Kick-Ass and Kingsman writer Jane Goldman is in charge of the script, which is said to be taken from the Age of Heroes tale – although she has warned that it “isn’t the story we think we know”.

Meanwhile, the final season of the HBO hit is due to air in April when fans will be faced with waving goodbye to Westeros.

Plot details have, as expected, been kept tightly under wraps but fans were given their first glimpse of the eighth series during Sunday night’s Golden Globes when the broadcaster dropped a Spring show slate .

Game Of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in April 2019.
