James Worthy suggests a ‘virus’ has seeped into Lakers, says Rondo ‘detrimental’ in loss

The gloves are starting to come off in Lakers land and if the reactions to tonight’s loss in Memphis are any indication, the summer could get quite ugly for LeBron James and company.

After Monday night’s 110-105 loss to the Grizzlies, Lakers legend and current Lakers commentator James Worthy said they look like a team that has been infected by some kind of virus. Then he went a step further and said that Rajon Rondo was not engaged mentally and was “detrimental” to the team.

While Worthy didn’t exactly say the name “LeBron James,” you could sense a little bit of shade being thrown his way from Worthy. Given the circumstances that nearly engulfed the team around the trade deadline, it’s not exactly a stretch to assume Worthy is suggesting the team is affected by something other than basketball.
