James Vincent McMorrow Iveagh Gardens concert restrictions, including four person pods and mask wearing

Live music is finally returning with the first of a number of outdoor test events taking place at the Iveagh Gardens next week.

James Vincent McMorrow will headline the gig on June 10 that will see just 500 people in attendance.

The show is being organised by the National Concert Hall and bosses hope to use the trial gigs to learn how to safely return to full live events.

NCH Chief Executive Robert Read told Morning Ireland it was a "privilege" to be at the vanguard of the return of live performances.

He said: "It has been nearly 15 months since we have been able to bring audiences back to the National Concert Hall and to be able to have this opportunity to lead the reopening of the cultural sector in this way… is a real privilege."

A host of safety measures will be put in place for the concert.

These include:

  • The June 10th concert will be standing only for the lucky 500 concert-goers and there'll also be marked pods to make sure of a two-metre gap between attendees.
  • There will be a maximum of 4 per group.
  • Antigen testing is not required by any in attendance however if you or any of your group have had Covid symptoms in the last fortnight, you're asked to not attend.
  • Tickets must be purchased online and printed at home or shown on a mobile device.
  • A contact number and name will need to be provided by all ticket holders to help with contact tracing if there's a Covid case detected.

  • Masks must be worn at all times until you are with your pod.
  • Socially distant queuing for services.
  • Use sanitising stations placed throughout the location.
  • Access to the site will begin at 5:30 but will be on a staggered basis.
  • Sorcha Richardson will perform at 7 pm while James Vincent McMorrow will take to the stage at 8 pm

This concert is the first of several events which will run for the following three weeks, which include Shamrock Rovers vs Finn Harps at Tallaght Stadium on June 11 and Leinster vs Dragons at the RDS on the same night.
