James Van Der Beek had the best reaction to the ‘Operation Varsity Blues’ college scandal

The Justice Department charged 50 people on Tuesday, including actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, in connection to an alleged bribery and fraud scheme aimed to get children admitted into competitive colleges.

For the past 10 months, the investigation had been referred to under the code name “Operation Varsity Blues” — a reference to the 90s high school football comedy starring James Van Der Beek.

Well, leave it to Van De Beek himself to respond with the best tweet.

As the Justice Department detailed the lengths these parents and coaches allegedly went to in hopes of cheating their kids’ admission into college, Van Der Beek offered some excellent (and relevant) commentary on the matter.

Van Der Beek was of course pointing to this classic exchange between Jonathan Moxon and his dad from Varsity Blues.

“I don’t want your life!”

That line never gets old.

Just think: Mox’s example could have saved parents from allegedly dishing out $500,000 to pretend their kids were recruited athletes on USC’s crew team.
