James, The Coral and Red Rum Club to perform at On the Waterfront Liverpool gig

James, The Coral and Red Rum Club will be performing at the finale of Liverpool's On the Waterfront festival this summer.

The event will return to the Pier Head with four days of gigs, following on from the festival's triumphant debut in 2021 which saw more than 40,000 people attend the event. This year's finale show will see a trio of Northern bands take to the stage, with the Three Graces and River Mersey as a backdrop.

Popular Liverpool band The Coral emerged in the early 2000s and have since gone on to achieve five UK top 10 albums and eight top 40 singles, including 'Dreaming of You', 'Pass It On' and 'In The Morning'. Another Liverpool band joining the line-up is Red Rum Club, who have amassed a loyal fanbase over recent years and have sold out numerous venues nationwide.

Manchester band James' 40th anniversary tour is set to coincide with their performance at On the Waterfront. The band will also be releasing a double album featuring a full orchestra and gospel choir in celebration of the milestone.

James Skelly from The Coral said: "I can't think of a better setting to play our music live than Liverpool's Pier Head in the summer." Jim Glenny from James added: "We are pleased and excited to announce our performance at On the Waterfront.

"What an incredible setting to do a gig. We love playing Liverpool. The people have such heart and are always up for a good time. A definite highlight for our 40th anniversary year. See you there."

Presale tickets for the show will go live at 9am on Wednesday, February 22, with fans able to sign up for presale via the On the Waterfront website. General sale tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, February 24.
