Rangers captain James Tavernier had to be taken off with a knee injury in the Europa League clash with Antwerp, leaving Steven Gerrard sweating over the right-back situation.
Youngster Nathan Patterson has been suspended by the club after breaking Covid restrictions to attend a party in Glasgow's West End.
Ahead of the trip to Belgium rumours emerged that Tavernier was carrying a knock, leaving Gerrard with no natural right-backs in his squad.
But the Englishman was then pictured training before flying to Belgium, with the manager dismissing the report. But Gerrard was later to witness the Rangers skipper jarring his knee in a challenge before going down in obvious pain.
Tavernier was able to get to his feet and attempted to play on.
After receiving the ball and playing a pass though the Englishman collapsed to the floor and couldn't continue.

He was replaced by Leon Balogun, who filled in at right-back, but with Patterson unavailable the injury will be a worry for Gerrard.
Tavernier was able to walk down the tunnel but was in obvious discomfort from what looked to be a medial ligament injury.
