James Tavernier reveals Rangers return date as captain shares Covid recovery experience

James Tavernier has revealed he’ll return to full Rangers training tomorrow after having to self isolate.

A positive Covid test caused the skipper to miss the Europa League win over Alashkert and their Old Firm derby victory against Celtic the following weekend.

Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin and even manager Steven Gerrard sat out both games as well as the Light Blues recorded two important 1-0 wins.

But the skipper admitted on a twitch stream that he’s due to rejoin the rest of the squad on Monday.

However, he’s yet to regain his sense of taste as the symptoms of the virus linger a little.

Tavernier responded to a fan question: "My health is good, thank you.

"I can't wait to get back into training. I've had a couple of sessions so far.

"I'm back in normal tomorrow. Can't wait.

"I'm feeling better now. It's been pretty bad. I think I've had all of it (symptoms) except the temperature.

"I still don't have my taste back.

"I was meant to go out for a family dinner but didn't see much point if I can't taste anything."
