James Tavernier Rangers’ injury update as Kemar Roofe shares behind the scenes snap

Rangers star Kemar Roofe has provided a behind-the-scenes look at James Tavernier's return from injury.

Both striker Roofe and skipper Tavernier are on the sidelines having limped off during The Light Blues' first leg Europa League clash with Royal Antwerp.

Steven Gerrard has revealed that he expects the Ibrox pair to be out of action for at least "two to three weeks" but it appears Tavernier is stepping up his return to action.

Roofe caught a clip Tavernier on Instagram walking freely today as the duo look to be moving closer to first-team action.

The video, posted to his story on the social media platform, shows the captain in training gear in the gym.

Tavernier has been a key man both domestically and in Europe for Gerrard as they close in on the Premiership trophy.

So far this term the captain has netted 17 team times in all competitions with the side 15 points clear of Celtic in the title race.

Leon Balogun and Nathan Patterson have been deputising for the injured Tavernier at right-back since the knock.
