James Tavernier on life with Rangers pest Alfredo Morelos as he admits 'I wish I was paid extra to babysit him'

Jiggered James Tavernier has opened up on the exhausting experience of dealing with Rangers maverick Alfredo Morelos on a daily basis.

The Colombian striker is adored by his team-mates but his captain admits it's a full-time job having to keep up with the club's top scorer.

Tavernier and Morelos have forged a close bond despite the talisman's high jinks at training and around the club.

It comes after the Ibrox skipper posted images to social media of his pal kicking him and running away as they celebrated beating Livingston on Wednesday night.

And Tavernier is glad they were taken so Gers fans can see what he has to cope with on a daily basis.

Speaking during a Live stream, he said: “Them pictures, that’s what I get every single day. Him just being a pest.

“He’s just a big kid, honestly. Just like a big kid. I’m happy them pictures were taken cause then I can prove to people what he’s like every single day.

“He’s some guy. I can’t hate the fella. We’ve been together a few years. I wish I was paid extra to babysit him. That’s another word, riot. He’s a pest and a riot.

“But I love the guy.

“He can speak English, I know he can speak English. It’s whether he chooses to, and that guy doesn’t choose to.

“It all adds up to what he is. Honestly, he’s a riot.”
