James Scott's Hibs transfer confirmed as striker joins on season long loan deal

James Scott’s season-long loan move to Hibs has been confirmed.

Scott joins Jack Ross ’ squad from Hull City until the end of the current Scottish Premiership season.

And he’s in contention to make his debut in green and white away to Dundee on Sunday.

The former Motherwell man has suffered from injury problems since making the move to Humberside for £1.5million last year.

And Tigers boss Grant McCann is keen to see him play regularly and recapture the form that prompted City to sign him from the Fir park club in the first place.

Hibs are in need of more options up front after Christian Doidge was ruled out until December at the earliest with an Achilles injury.

Last season’s top scorer Kevin Nisbet wa sleft as the only ut and out front man in Ross’ squad, although Martin Boyle, fresh from signing a new contract, can be deployed through the middle.

But Scott’s arrival will allow Boyle to continue in his more familiar right wing role.

Hibs are still working on a deal to bring USA international Chris Mueller in before the end of the transfer window.

The American wide man has already penned a pre-contract agreement to ove to Easter Road in January, but the club are keen to bring him in ahead of schedule to further bolster Ross’ numbers.
