James Scott bid rejected as Hull City make move for Motherwell teenager

Motherwell have turned down a £700,000 bid from Hull City for James Scott.

The Tigers made the six figure bid on Thursday evening for the Scotland under-21 cap.

Well knocked back the offer and it remains to be seen if the English Championship side will come back.

Highly-rated Scott has also been the subject of an enquiry from Bristol City earlier this month.

The 19-year-old has come through the ranks and Scotland has been a fruitful hunting ground as they have previously taken national team skipper Andy Robertson from Hull City.

Motherwell have always made it clear they will sell if the price is right.

Well's youth academy has become renowned as one of the most productive in Scotland over recent seasons.

The Premiership club brought through Jake Hastie before his move to Rangers and David Turnbull was the subject of a transfer tug of war between Celtic and Norwich City last summer.
