James Ryan available to play for Leinster in PRO14 final against Ulster

James Ryan is available to play for Leinster in Saturday's Guinness PRO14 final against Ulster.

Ireland second row Ryan has been swiftly working his way back to fitness since undergoing shoulder surgery and a serious option for Leo Cullen for the Aviva Stadium clash.

Cullen may decide to start the 24-year-old on the bench given his lack of game time, but Leinster have been impressed by his rate of progress and he looks set to feature, especially with the Champions Cup quarter-final against Saracens to follow a week later.

Rob Kearney is in stand-by to return at full-back as Jordan Larmour was removed for a HIA in last Friday's semi-final victory over Munster.

The young full-back will follow the graduated protocols but Kearney, who started the regular league game against Ulster the previous week, is ready to come back in.

Like Ryan, Tadhg Furlong hasn't had any game involvement since the end of lockdown due to an issue with his back and it remains to be seen if he will play this week.

The same applies in regard to Dan Leavy, who is hoping for his first game time in 18 months.

Fergus McFadden continues to work his way back from a calf injury and will increase his training load this week, but is not yet ready to play.
