James Rodriguez sends cryptic tweet as Everton transfer rumours continue

The rumours linking James Rodriguez with a move to Everton continue to gather pace.

The Real Madrid playmaker is of interest to Carlo Ancelotti, who is keen to be united with a player he managed both in Spain and at Bayern Munich.

Rodriguez joins Napoli midfielder Allan in being listed as target for the Blues, with the pair both having previously working under Ancelotti in their career.

Everton are interested in signing the Colombia international, the ECHO understands, but it's yet to be seen if they will have the finances available to conclude such deals.

Amid the rumours, Rodriguez has taken to Twitter to add more fuel to the fire with a cryptic tweet.

Accompanying a picture of himself in a gym holding two thumbs up, the 29-year-old simply wrote: “I’m ready,” along with a smiley face emoji.

The transfer window in England closes on October 6, with the Premier League season due in just over two weeks, and it remains to be seen whether Everton will bring in any new additions before then.
