James Rodriguez's form tipped to inspire ex-Real Madrid teammate to make England move

Brazilian legend Rivaldo thinks Real Madrid star Isco could be inspired by James Rodriguez's start at Everton and make a Premier League move in the near future.

Despite struggling to impose himself at the Bernabeu James has been superb since joining the Toffees in the summer, scoring three goals and creating four assists in his six appearances in all competitions so far.

Isco - who has been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham in the past - was at one stage regarded as one of the most talented prospects in Europe.

He has flattered to deceive recently, however, and has been in and out of Zinedine Zidane's team.

Writing in his column for Betfair , Rivaldo suggested the 28-year-old attacking midfielder could flourish in England as James has.

" Isco has had great days at the club and was an important member of the squad for a lot of time, but it's not happening for him at the Bernabeu any longer, so he might look to James Rodriguez's situation as a good example of how to successfully move on," Rivaldo said.

"The Colombian attacker is shooting the lights out in England with Everton and I wouldn't be surprised if Isco decided to make a similar move in the near future."

"Isco is watching James and knows he's very happy with his decision of leaving Real Madrid for a club where he had the chance to be a regular starter and finally get back to his best form.

"Isco may consider something similar if he keeps being overlooked by Zidane."

Isco started Madrid's shock defeat to Cadiz at the weekend, but was ineffective and was replaced at half-time.

In total he has played 311 games for Madrid, scoring 51 times, and the prospect of seeing the Spanish international in action in the Premier League is an exciting one given the impact James has had in such a short space of time.
