James Rodriguez was officially unveiled as an Everton player on Monday night.
After completing his marquee move from Real Madrid it was decided the new Blues star would wear the number 19 for the upcoming campaign.
Rodriguez, who has signed on a two-year deal which gives the club an option for a third, wore both the number 10 and 11 during his time at the Bernabeu.
For Colombia he proudly dons the number 10 and during his two-year loan spell with Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich he also repped the the number 11.
Those number are currently unavailable at Everton with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott taking up the number 10 and 11 respectively.
That saw Rodriguez opt for the number 19 which was previously worn by former Blues Oumar Niasse and Djibril Sidibe.
It is also a digit the attacking midfielder is familiar with from his days at boyhood club Envigado.
The Colombian outfit, who gave Rodriguez his first taste of professional football as a teenager, shared a picture to social media which showed a young James donning the 19.
The club's official Twitter wrote a caption which read: "Every number has its history."
Everton also quote tweeted Envigado to thank them for training a young James too.
