James Rodriguez has given an insight into what Everton fans can expect of him at Goodison Park.
The Colombian attacking midfielder has reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at the Toffees after falling out of favour at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane.
It is undoubtedly a coup for Everton but what can fans expect from their new man?
In a June interview with Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel, Rodriguez explained what he feels his role as an old-fashioned number 10 is.
He said: "I think the number 10 must have eyes in the back of his head, always.
"I've always thought that the number 10 should be in control of the whole team.
"He should know where his teammates are.
"The number 10 should be able to create goal-scoring opportunities, he should be able to score goals, make his teammates play.
"So I'm a person that likes to create and score goals because I enjoy scoring goals, making assists, I enjoy playing, performing.
"Now, football is complicated, football is now monotonous.
"Everything is 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and football is run, run and midfield, currently, just a few players do extraordinary things.
"There's just a few like Messi, Neymar, they are players that you get amazed at.
"Players that do different things, you know?"
He added: "Now football is always the same, midfield, run, midfield, run.
"I believe that football must be nice but you have to score goals.
"You have to play with a purpose, you have to know why you want to play.
"I'm someone who thinks that way about football, you must play it well, you must play it easily, because playing it easily is very complicated.
"The number 10 should be in control of everything and know how to create stuff and to make his teammates play."
The 29-year-old admits that his position has gone out of fashion in the game, revealing his sadness at the fact it is not a role many children aspire to play anymore.
He said: "The thing is there are a lot of kids that don't want to play number 10 anymore.
"There are a lot of kids that prefer to be forwards or midfielders, football has created that now.
"Now everyone plays 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, hardly any kids want to be a number 10 because now there aren't any.
"The number 10s are being left out by the managers because now they only want fast players who have one on one skills, that can run, that can play through the middle.
"So now it's tough that kids don't want to be number 10 anymore because number 10 is not very useful now.
"Fifteen, 20 years ago, everyone wanted to be a number 10 but now it's more complicated."
