It is hard not to think too much into it, isn't it?
I mean, why would James Rodriguez, after a pretty solid two years of posting to Instagram solely in emojis or Spanish, begin telling his followers 'I'm ready' and that 'the hard work pays off' in English?
And while we're at it, why would flight tracking apps exist if they didn't want us to follow multiple aircrafts in the hope one is carrying the Real Madrid superstar to a secret blue landing pad at the Liver Building?
All joking aside, Rodriguez is sending the right messages.
On paper he is a handsomely paid 29-year-old with something of a sketchy fitness record but this did not stop Carlo Ancelotti asking the board to acquire his services.
And why wouldn't he want him at Everton?
This is a man who has never failed to score fewer than seven goals across a campaign when playing more than 15 games. During his best season at Madrid he bagged 17. In two seasons with Bayern Munich he netted 15 in 67.
Oh, and you can add a World Cup top-scorer award, two La Liga titles, two Champions League crowns, two Bundesligas and a slew of personal awards to that.
And when was the last time Everton had a proper superstar in their ranks?
Wayne Rooney, arguably, but perhaps he left too early and re-signed a little too late.
In reality, you probably have to go back to the glory days of the 1980s to find one.
But if Rodriguez does join Everton, he is not coming in the guise of Rooney, Samuel Eto'o, Paul Gascoigne or David Ginola.
Ancelotti would be signing a world-class talent in what is still conceivably his prime years. Yes, okay, he was a peripheral figure at Real Madrid last season but wasn't Lucas Digne at Barcelona before he arrived on Merseyside?
Rodriguez also boasts a combined 64m followers on social media and has an individual fan-base that could increase the following and interest in Everton overseas.
Yet deep down, all that really matters is James wanting to play for Ancelotti at Everton.

If he does - and the finances suit Marcel Brands and the powers-that-be behind the scenes - then why shouldn't the dream become a reality? Why shouldn't Everton land themselves a real, modern day footballing superstar?
If this is a revolution under Ancelotti, what better way to lead it than with a player who has done it all?
Squad mentality has been questioned under previous managers but will Rodriguez be fazed by an away trip to Anfield or the Etihad?
Why would he be? He has played in the El Clasico and in a World Cup quarter-final.
He has said it himself this week. He is ready.
Ready for what is the next question.
But if hard work really does pay off?
Then Everton could be the benefactors of a superstar aiming to prove he is not quite finished yet.
Forget potential and sell-on value and building for the future. Rodriguez would arrive for the here-and-now.
That is exactly what Everton and Ancelotti need.
