James Rodriguez injury boost as Everton forward trains ahead of Manchester United

James Rodriguez looks set to win his race to be fit to face Manchester United tomorrow after images of him back in training have been released.

The Colombian missed last weekend's defeat at Newcastle United - the first Premier League game he's been absent for since joining the Blues - with an injury which was described as "small" by Carlo Ancelotti.

But the Everton manager, a week ago today, spoke with confidence about the 29-year-old being fit to face United at Goodison tomorrow.

The Blues boss will provide an update on Rodriguez's fitness at 1:30pm but images, first released by Everton on social media, show the player back in training with the squad and - seemingly - in contention to face United.

Rodriguez was a doubt for the trip to Southampton after picking up an injury following a foul by Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, but he was passed fit to play.

But the Colombian did not look 100% match fit and, near the end of the game, was seen clutching his left hamstring.
