James Penrice has completed his move from Heart of Midlothian to AEK Athens as both clubs confirmed the deal.
It has been a whirlwind few days for the left-back from the Greek giants' interest was revealed in the latter part of the week through to the transfer being sealed today.
The 26-year-old left Hearts' training base in Spain early yesterday to jet out to Athens and the finishing touches were able to be put on the deal.
It is understood the Tynecastle side have banked a seven-figure fee for a player then signed on a free from Livingston last summer.
Confirming his exit this afternoon, a spokesperson said: "Heart of Midlothian can confirm we have reached an agreement with AEK Athens for the transfer of James Penrice.
"The 26-year-old will join the Greek Super League side for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.
"Everyone at the Football Club would like to thank James for his time in Gorgie and wish him the very best of luck in Athens."

AEK's own statement reads: "AEK FC announces the transfer of left-back James Penrice from Scottish club Heart of Midlothian.
"James Penrice was born on 2 December 1998 in Livingston, Scotland. He made his professional debut in the Scottish top flight in 2015, at the age of 16, with Partick Thistle.
"In 2021, he signed for Livingston and played in the Scottish Premier League for three seasons with them (94 appearances in all competitions). A year ago, he moved to Hearts and enjoyed the best season of his career so far, playing in 46 matches in all competitions.
"His performance in the league brought him into the top eleven of the competition (PFA Scotland Team of the Year) based on the vote of the footballers of Scotland's professional divisions. James, welcome to AEK. We wish you health and success with our great team!"
