LBC and occasional Newsnight presenter James O’Brien is to present a new ITV daytime political talkshow in the run-up to the general election.
The 10-part lunchtime series, O’Brien, will feature politicians, journalists, celebrities and campaigners, plus a member of the public “chosen for their passionate views and convincing arguments”.
O’Brien, whose interview with Nigel Farage was memorably interrupted by Ukip’s director of communications last year, will begin his new 60-minute show on 30 March.
“I hate the way politicians have started banging on about ‘ordinary people’ recently,” said O’Brien.
“There’s no such thing. Everyone’s extraordinary in their own way, with extraordinary stories to tell and passionate opinions informed by their experiences and what’s in the news. I can’t wait to start listening to them.”
