James Moss: Single father feeds homeless in Denver after he was helped by crowdfunding campaign

A man who was helped to get back on his feet when hundreds of people donated cash after being touched by his plight has been "giving something back" - by feeding the homeless.

James Moss and some friends doled out sandwiches and other food to people in a park in Denver on Saturday morning in an effort to pass on the generousity he experienced after moving to the city.

Earlier this month, a GoFundMe campaign raised nearly $55k (£36K) for Mr Moss - a young father who found himself living in his car with his young son after moving to Colorado from New York City.

Mr Moss had a job and a house lined up but it had fallen through.

He was featured in local vlogger Leon Logothetis’ #GoBeKind tour, which gave him $1,000 (£650) and a week’s hotel stay.

Later, Mr Logothetis returned to Mr Moss who had got a job as a barber but had no reliable transport and was still living in a shelter.

A crowdfunding campaign was launched and raised $54,800 in just 11 days.

He told local news channel 9NEWS he had decided to pay the kindness he had received forward and planned to organise more events like this in future.

"I was once in this position with my son," he said.

"It just feels good (to help). I've got a little tingly feeling going on."

He said in a follow-up YouTube video with Mr Logothetis that he had never  “thought that a small act of kindness like that would spark such a huge chain reaction.”

Mr Moss continued say he had had “nothing but good experiences” since arriving in the city and he had been helped by several strangers even before the crowd funding appeal began.
