James Milner signs contract extension with Liverpool

Liverpool star James Milner has signed a contract extension to keep him at Anfield until summer 2022.

The 33-year-old midfielder remains an integral member of Jurgen Klopp's squad - and has made 21 appearances this term, scoring three goals.

His existing deal was due to expire next year.

Speaking back in October, Milner said: "My contract with Liverpool is up the end of the season but hopefully we’ll sort something out.

"I want to keep going as long as possible at the highest level."

And after the conclusion of contract talks, Milner has now committed his future to the Premier League leaders for two extra years.

It follows an already successful week for the Reds, which has seem them progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.

On top of that, it was revealed yesterday that a January transfer deal is set to be sealed for the services of RB Salzburg forward Takumi Minamino.

And today came confirmation that Klopp has signed a new contract that will see him stay at the club until 2024.
